Our gym is placed at Templarheimvegen 35, in the same building and same entrance as Tromsøbadet, the swimming pool. You can take buses 20 and 24 to the closest bus stop 'Templarheimen' and then walk up the hill. People of all ages are warmly welcome to come climb with us. You don't need any prior knowledge to climb, and our staff will help you get started. However, we do offer start up courses if you want to learn about climbing technique or how to climb and secure with a rope. You will find bouldering and rope climbing introduction courses here.
You can visit us as a drop-in customer and it is possible to rent a harness and climbing shoes.
Everyone who wants to climb or visit our climbing gym must read our safety rules and sign a statement of responsibility. You can either do it through our website or when you visit us.

Anyone who wants to buy a clip card, or a month card must register as a user at Tromsø Klatresenter AS. You will then get a separate user profile in our customer register where you can see information about your purchases and make purchases. When you register as a user, you must also accept our membership and subscription terms. Registrer your user here.

Tromsø climbing gym has automatic belay machines that allow you to climb without a belay card and climbing partner. This gives you the opportunity to get to the top of our walls even if you have no previous climbing experience. All you need is a short training from one of our employees, and you're good to go!

In order to belay on rope at our gym, you must have either a belay certificate card or a top rope card. This also applies if you are going to belay children.
We hold weekly tests for those who want to take belay certificate card (brattkort) or top rope card (topptau kort). Book a test by pressing "påmelding"
To get ready for the test, we recommend a basic course, if you don't already have the necessary skills. More information below.
If you want to learn how to belay, you can sign up for one of our basic courses. The course is for those who want to take belay certificate card (Brattkort) that enables them to lead climb and secure others on all indoor walls in Norway.
Time: Every other weekend Saturday 12:00-16:00 and Sunday 11:00-16:00.
Equipment: Can be borrowed and is included in the price (attendance 15 min before the course starts so you have time to get your gear).
Climbing partner: Not necessary.
Criteria: The participant must be 13 years or older. Parents must provide consent for participants under the age of 18. The course is usually in Norwegian, but English speakers are accomodated when needed. After completing the course you get two weeks of free entracnce to the gym in order to practice the learnt belay technique. The belay sertificate card test (Brattkort test) is included in the price and can be booked from two weeks after the course.

We also offer technique courses for those who want to take their climbing to the next level. The courses are usually conducted in Norwegian. Send us an email if you want to participate, and we can find a solution.

Introduction to bouldering technique
Cancellation more than 7 days before the start of the course: Full refund. Cancellation 2 - 7 days before the course starts: 50% refund. Cancellation the day before the course starts: No refund.
Climbing is an excellent family activity, and at Tromsø Klatresenter we welcome all ages! Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by adults, but can try their hand at both rope climbing and bouldering. We also have a small bouldering wall for children.
Tromsø Climbing Club also arranges family climbing on Saturdays. This is called "Familieklatring". Every Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 there will be instructors to help families with belaying and climbing. Please tell at the reception that you are attending "familieklatring" upon arrival.
We also have organized training groups for children and youth. Send medlemskap.tkk@gmail.com an email if your child wants to join.
If you do not have your own equipment, you can rent everything you need for climbing from us. We also sell a selection of climbing equipment if you want to have your own. Prices for equipment rental can be found below.
Membership at Tromø climbing club gives you the opportunity to rent crashpads and port-a-ledge for 50 kr per day. Send us an email or call us to rent the crashpad.
Tromsø Climbing gym uses «Vertical Life» so that you always have access to an updated overview of rope and bouldering routes. By downloading the «Vertical Life» app and typing «Tromsø klatresenter», you always know where to find the newest and hottest routes in the climbing facility.
As a member of Tromsø Climbing Club, you support the club's work for a better climbing offer, both inside and outside, in Tromsø and the surrounding area!

*You are considered an adult from the calendar year you turn 19.
**Family membership applies for 2 parents with 1 to 3 children, or 1 parent with 1 to 4 children.
For families with more than 5 individuals, additional child memberships must be purchased per child in addition to those included in the family membership.
N.B. Membership is valid for a calendar year. (January-December)
When the membership fee is paid, you will have a membership card available through the app "Min idrett". Show your membership card trough the app at the reception or at the store in question to get the discount.
